Creating a new world in the virtual reality space
We are restoring the battleship Yamato in the “virtual reality” space.
Battleship Yamato was constructed during the World War Ⅱ in 1937, and it was the biggest battleship ever built in history. Unfortunately, Yamato could not survive in the war.
Even in the post war era, battleship Yamato earned a great popularity among Japanese people.
However, all we can do is to just imagine what she was like in the existing ages.
"I want to take a look at the Yamato."
"I want to take a ride on the Yamato."
To make these wishes come true, we started a project to restore battleship Yamato in the immersive “virtual reality” world.
For the project, we raised 8,765,409 yen from 782 people via the crowd-funding platform Campfire.
The completion is scheduled on 2016, and it will be available on Oculus Rift.
